Emma is a Technical Officer with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) - a charity, and one of the leading professional body for those working in tax. She assists the ATT in its objective of contributing to the development of the UK tax system and seeking to ensure that, for the general public, it is workable and as fair as possible. One of Emma’s key focuses is emerging tax policy, keeping abreast of new announcements and proposals and working closely with HMRC and the Treasury. She also writes articles for various publications, frequently presents on tax technical issues and has appeared on the radio on several occasions to discuss tax issues. Outside of tax policy, Emma has a strong interest in tax education. She is involved in the ATT’s apprenticeship programme and the examinations provided by the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), and has also visited schools to discuss the importance and role of the tax system.
