John is National Head of Rating and Managing Director of Accurates. Although he is focused on advising clients on business rates, he has experience in all areas of professional work including Landlord and Tenant, Compulsory Purchase and Valuation. He has also advised clients on acquisition and sales advice. John is also one of only a handful of surveyors who hold the prestigious RICS Diploma in Rating which is the gold standard of rating qualifications. He is ultimately responsible for the delivery of all services to all of the clients of the rating division. As such he is regularly involved in giving advice on strategy at the highest level including Government lobbying and advice on Judicial Review alongside legal advisors. He has appeared on BBC1 Business Programmes on the issue of business rates as well as Radio 5 Live, Radio 5 Wake Up to Money, BBC Radio 4 Today Programme and You and Yours as well as many other Radio programmes. His views are regularly published by The Times; The Daily Telegraph; The Daily Mail; The Independent; The Sunday Times and Financial Times. He also regular contributes to The Property Week, Estates Gazette and many other trade publications.
