Lisa is fascinated by the interface between people, nature and the environment and enjoys problem solving to help us achieve the best balance we can together.
Lisa joined the Coal Authority as Chief Executive in May 2018 after 21 years at the Environment Agency. The Coal Authority remediates pollution and hazards from our mining past, provides information to help householders, businesses and infrastructure providers make informed decisions and looks for innovative ways to provide low carbon and sustainable opportunities – such as decarbonised heat for coalfield homes and businesses from the warm mine water in the workings below them.
Lisa is passionate about diversity and inclusion and was awarded an MBE for her work in 2014.
