Lord Robin Teverson spent his early career in the freight and logistics industry then becoming an MEP representing Cornwall and Plymouth in the 1990s. Following his spell in the European Parliament he took up the appointment of chief executive of a regional venture capital fund in the South West. In 2006 he was appointed to the House of Lords. He speaks on energy, climate change and biodiversity issues. He has chaired three select committees and is currently a member of the International Relations and Defence Select Committee. Outside of Parliament he has been a board member of the Marine Management organisation, is currently chair of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership, and chair of the battery storage company Aldustria Limited. He is also a trustee of the company that holds the ‘green share’ in the Green Investment Bank.
