Lydia Sanders

LONDON

Lydia Sanders is a 23 year old children’s author with an unquenchable thirst for telling stories. Her debut series Hysterical Herstories tells the stories of ordinary women throughout history who led extraordinary lives. Lydia chose to write these herstories because her school history lessons taught her nothing of the people who were just like her: ordinary women.

Lydia graduated from Durham University in Spanish and French in 2020 and thanks to the pandemic, found herself walking the long road to unemployment. With copious amounts of time on her hands she deployed her skills as a feminist and storyteller and achieved a dream she’d had since the first time she felt ink on paper: to become an author.

With this series Lydia wishes to empower children into believing they can become the extraordinary she knows them to possess - just like the women in her books: Marie Curie, Coco Chanel, Rosa Parks, Boudicca and Ada Lovelace. Finally it’s time for herstory. Hysterical Herstories: ordinary women leading extraordinary lives 🦹🏼‍♀️ Empower your superstars with a herstory today, and stay extraordinary.
