Ambitious and entrepreneurial Founder / MD / CEO.
Graduated in English 2:1 from The University of Nottingham in 2005, during which time I attempted to create the UK´s first ever National Student Poker tournament, in association with The Sky Poker Channel and SportingBet.
After graduating I worked in London for a growing headhunting firm, Skillcapital, which specialised in finding board level executives for Private Equity backed-businesses. Personal placements included putting Peter McGuigan, former CEO of Umbro, into Americana, a £250m deal.
In 2009 I left London to start a business from scratch. This led to launching in 2012 an in-home computer tuition service (Silver Training), which rebranded in March 2016 to We Are Digital. After four rounds of angel investment, including social impact VCs such as our current investors: Si2 Fund, Ascension Ventures, Triplepoint and ClearlySo, the business has grown to a 50-person, 2 office business in the heart of the Coventry digital scene - now serving clients as a major digital and financial inclusion education provider with a network of 100+ IT trainers and 300+ centres in the UK. We work with housing associations, councils, charities, central government and corporates to break down the barriers of exclusion.
