Doug Bedford, Protempore Management, A Tweak in Direction – Am I Really Starting Over Again?
Well yes, it really does feel that way currently. Finding clients in my new guise is proving challenging.
Protempore Management Ltd was established in 2001 providing professional contracting and interim FD services to sme businesses, specialising in short and long term assignments working on more of a full time basis.
So what am I now doing that would appear to be so different. I am focussing on portfolio FD working, still offering the same services, but also looking for NED opportunities. I wish to work with clients on a longer term basis but very part-time, anything from a day a month to two days a week.
A professionally qualified accountant (FCMA), I have many years experience at the operational sharp end, specialising particularly in manufacturing industry and have experience of a very wide range of sectors. I take a very hands on, sleeves rolled up approach to all my assignments.
I assist businesses by unblocking stalling development and growth plans, allowing businesses to move forward. I resolve problems, helping management to sleep at night. Utilising my expertise in troubleshooting and change management I focus on having a significant impact on a business in the shortest time possible, providing a very cost effective and value for money service.
I have successfully undertaken projects which have resolved issues for businesses and allowed management to take proper informed decisions in regard to future direction. On occasions I have been part of that decision making process and then continued to help the business move forward.
The services I offer are backed up with first hand project experience in a variety of different environments and climates. In conjunction with this I have worked with Companies in a number of different countries and travelled widely across Europe, Canada, USA, and the Far East.
