Andy Clark is Rail Programme Lead at Midlands Connect – the sub-national transport body for the Midlands. Andy leads on a number of the Midlands Connect’s Rail Business Cases, with the largest of these being the Midlands Rail Hub, for which Andy and the wider team at Midlands Connect form a Client Partner to the Department for Transport. Midlands Rail Hub recently received further Government funding and backing, so Andy is working hard to ensure the scheme is delivered as quickly as possible in its entirety, having first worked on development of the scheme in 2015. Prior to joining Midlands Connect’s rail team, Andy working in public transport planning at Atkins, predominantly working on a number of rail and bus-based feasibility studies during his time there. Outside of work, Andy is kept busy looking after two young children, but occasionally finds time for jogging, cycling and trying to travel on every part of the UK’s rail network (99% there!).
