Andrew Robinson

Andrew Robinson has a 15-year career with Network Rail and has worked in a variety of roles over that time, including in Business Change, Customer Management and Timetable Planning. He is currently a Senior Strategic Planner in Network Rail’s Great Western route, working on long term strategies for the railway between Cornwall and Wiltshire/Gloucestershire. This involves close cooperation with councils, combined authorities, sub-national transport bodies and others within the rail industry to identify how the railway can support local plans for growth and modal shift. Following the development of strategies, that engagement continues to develop business cases for investment in the enhancements needed to deliver the additional services, connectivity or capacity that is required.

Outside of his professional rail role, Andrew volunteered for 25+ years at the Talyllyn Railway in Wales, working on the footplate, relaying track, maintaining locomotives and serving on various committees.
