Mark Tock has 20 years’ senior experience leading place-based innovation projects in the public and private sectors supporting start-ups & SMEs to grow. He has led a Business Neighbourhood Front Runner, Nottingham’s University Enterprise Zone, and UK Space Agency-funded Accelerators, and has also worked as a Young Enterprise business mentor and biotech consultant.
Mark was a Director & Company Secretary at UK Science Park Association Board whilst leading wholly owned subsidiaries facing the same challenges as any other SME during economic downturns, COVID, and recent turbulence.
Today, he leads The University of Warwick Science Park which supports 165+ resident tech businesses, operates Minerva Business Angels Network, delivers Business Ready, & has its own Ignite Incubator & Alumni Network. These projects demonstrate Mark’s commitment to supporting small business growth & enable him to engage with the challenges faced by small businesses today including late payments & increasing overheads.
Mark’s experience working with local & regional government and HEIs affords him insight into stakeholders relevant to the work of the Science Park.
