Martin Dean

Martin Dean is Managing Director of Go-Ahead's award winnnig Regional Bus Division comprising 4,000 vehicles spread across seven operating companies and ranging from big city franchised operations in Manchester to deeply rural services in locations like Cornwall and Dorset. Martin has huge experience in the sector and is the current Chair of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, the industry's trade body and takes a leading role in discussions with Government on funding, conversion to Zero Emission buses and integrated ticketing. He started off as a graduate trainee with London Transport in 1985 and has experience of working in local government, transport consultancy and had a spell as Sales & Marketing Director of what is now the Greater Anglia rail network. He has just finished a five year spell as non executive chairman of the award winning Edinburgh trams and in 2025 was honoured with a Lifetime Contribution to the Bus Industry award at the UK Bus Awards.
