Roger Neary has extensive experience in the railway industry having worked for DB Cargo UK (and its predecessors) for thirty-three years. With a background in strategic rail freight planning, Roger is now DB Cargo UK’s Chief Commercial Officer with responsibility for client relations and engineering maintenance, including responsibility for DB Cargo UK’s fleet of around 200 locomotives and 2,200 freight wagons. Following his return to the UK, Roger was promoted, in 2018, to the Board of DB Cargo UK as Head of Sales, and in 2026, he assumed the additional responsibility for DB Cargo UK’s engineering function, including its major engineering workshops located at Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent and Toton near Nottingham.
Away from work, Roger likes to spend his time keeping fit by walking his dogs, running and skiing. Always up for a challenge, his 2026 adventure is to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
